Attorney Douglas R. Penn has been practicing exclusively in the field of U.S. immigration law since 1997.

Mr. Penn represents individuals and businesses with immigration issues before the Citizenship and Immigration Services, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Department of State and the United States Department of Labor.

He represents clients in connection with employment-based nonimmigrant and immigrant visa petitions and applications, labor certification applications, family-based petitions, adjustment of status and citizenship applications, and immigration interviews, and related government requests for evidence and audits.

Mr. Penn is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). He regularly speaks at AILA’s annual immigration law conference and other national conferences. Additionally, he routinely gives presentations to community and business groups in Fairfield County and throughout Connecticut on immigration matters, and has also been named in Best Lawyers in America®



PARALEGAL

Shabnam Porbandarwala has been an immigration paralegal with the Law Offices of Douglas R Penn, LLC since 2020. She has extensive experience in employment-based and family-based immigration law.
She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Political Science from Fairfield University and a paralegal certificate from Norwalk Community College. Additionally, she is fluent in Hindi and conversational in American Sign Language and Spanish.
Ms. Porbandarwala has been heavily involved in the community, having organized cultural events and humanitarian action events. She has volunteered with Head Start, a program helping low income, preschool children devel the language, social, and general kindergarten readiness skills.
